Felt hat:-)

This is a not-so-serious take on a felt hat I made some time ago. All natural sheepswool, felted with soap and warm water.

  1. Pointyyy ;)
Need to have a go at that again too...maybe this time knit it first and then felt it in the washer...we'll see :)

  2. Now, come on: you know it's got to be done: a picture of you wearing it...pleaaaase:-) That's a good bushcraft pattern I think.

  3. @drui: I am EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEMely curious and daresay I will be quite depressed at my achievement when I see yours...*ggg*
@joel: Okay, if you insist...:-)... I have worn it with my storyteller´s costume (you know, cloak and staff and the like, and NO!NO! TOGA!*ggg*). It´s really warm, but if it´s windy, comes off quite easily... have to do something about that, I guess;-).

    1. I have discovered a good trick to keep my hat on: cut my hair short, about 6mm: That kept my hat firmly anchored on my head the other day, in strong wind!

  4. Yap, that´s a solution, but how should I hide my pate then? I like to take a strand of hair, grow it long (up to 1 m*ggg*) and drape it around the bald patch. Works like a cinch!*ggg* Kidding aside, short hair is better in the woods... less chance of getting tangled in, no habitat for little evil critters. But if I shaved my head, the combination of the army pants, army boots and "skin" head would tell a message I do not want to tell:-)... and I get problems frequently already with my Turkish and Arabian fellow citizens calling me a "Nazi" (and trying to provoque a riot) just for wearing my pants, jacket and the like. Other outdoor gear I cannot afford... so it´s talking and talking and talking some more to just walk through the suburbs unscathed.

Great place to live, over here*ggg*, but I like it nonetheless-you get a very special sort of humour when living here, and we actually DO have the greenest city in North-Rhine-Westfalia, and that´s a thing!

Now go on, discuss and rant and push my ego;-). As long as it´s a respectful message, every comment is welcome!
