Pimp my staff- Orgonite Orgone module and some encrustation work on my wood spirit hiking staff

 I had this staff out of yew that served me well for years standing about and I figured it could do with some change. ;-)
So I fitted these ingredients into a hole I drilled into the end. A copper tube filled with felted raw wool / steel wool atop a bit of steel wool, fixed with resin. Atop the module I fitted a crystal I had lying around. The ferrule will go on top, and I will fit copper wire spiral inlays into the handle as well as Haematite "super" magnets, as soon as I come across some that fit and that I can afford, plus some amber. As is, there is a mild effect (it warms in the hand but does not affect water trickles).

I fitted a tiger´s eye agate into the brow of the wood spirit, and some moonstone shards in a light milky green colour for eyes. There will be some blood agates fitted at the sides and the backside, too.

Reprofiled an old blade

This knife you might be familiar with. It has a blade out of the St. Jakobus pilgrim´s trail that runs near my home. The trail is virtually made out of steel, because the woods belonged to some Funcke corporation specializing in making saws, spades, picks and shovels between the big wars. They used their crap metal to fill up the trails. I found some steel that might be something with a carbon content like silver steel, but with a very strange spark image, with dark red, articulated specks amongst the bright ones with articulated star sparks at the end. Took that, forge welded it to a file I found there, too, et voilá. The ferrules are copper, the handle is Caucasian walnut root. It measures in at 87 mm for the blade, with a rather thick spine of 6 mm. I reprofiled it to a Scandi grind and to fit in a Scandi sheath. Since the pattern does not show so brightly anyway, I decided not to etch it. It now cuts wood like mad. Thin slices of salami, that´s another story, though;-). But the, who wants thin slices of salami?;-)

New project: Broken back Hadseax

 This is a broken back Hadseax blade I forged some time ago. It´s made from a 300 layer/120 layer/ four bar damascus out of tank bearing and tank cannon steel by Matthias Zwissler. The tang has an angle to it to compensate for one flaw of the design: The cutting ability on flat surfaces. Have to flatten the convex bevel some and rework the fuller a bit, for I used power tools and did it free hand.

The handle will be either carved reindeer antler or a combination of birchwood burl and reindeer, or even a stag antler handle with a copper ferrule. I am still at it.
